More than 20,000 officers from NYC an departments across the nation gathered to pay respects to the two slain officers, many supported the shunning of Mayor de Blasio when his image appeared on the big-screen monitors. Since the Dec. 20 shootings, de Blasio has stood firmly by police, calling on demonstrators to temporarily halt protests and praising the department after it arrested several men charged with threatening police. Thats whats called too little, too late... The Mayor should have stood by his police department from the beginning. He could have learned a lot with a phone call to former Mayor Rudy Giuliani before he opened his mouth in support of the anti-police protesters. Lots of healing before this city will settle down, and thats no easy task in this current environment.
