More than 400,000 people in 150 isolated and impoverished communities will now be served by a new medical ship operating across Lake Victoria. The Jubilee Hope is a former Royal Navy vessel fitted out pro bono in Glasgow by BAE Systems. It has a full dental surgery, operating theatre, two consulting areas, an eye surgery and a laboratory. The ship then had to be DRIVEN more than 600 miles to reach the central African lake by road!
