More than 5000 years ago was a little known discussion between Lord Krishna and Gangadevi. In that discussion, Gangadevi expressed Her concern about the age of Kali and how sinful people will be in this age…She was concerned about the upcoming age. In response to Her concerns, Krishna said something really powerful which pacified Ganga. He said “Don’t worry! Soon, there will be a person who will come. This person will take my Holy name to every corner of the world.” Upon hearing this, Gangadevi became happy and somewhat peaceful. This account is from the Brahmāṇḑa Purāņa. Its explained that this is actually the first of three powerful statements predicting the appearance of Srila Prabhupada on this planet. Many times, people display a limited understanding of Srila Prabhupada. They say “Prabhupada is a very wonderful spiritual teacher!” They say “Prabhupada is the spiritual master who started the ISKCON society!” but that’s just a small glorification of the actual position and empowerment of Srila Prabhupada.
