More than a few people have asked the following question out here: Can you tell me the story behind Atticus? Fortunately, I can, since I wrote it. This page was set up with help from my publisher, William Morrow in 2011. Its a business page to help promote our book Following Atticus. When it was first created I had mixed feelings about it because I have mixed feelings about social media, particularly Facebook. Somehow our page continues to thrive in spite of my mixed feelings and we are coming close to 220,000 fans. Our book is available in hardcover, paperback, large print, audio, and in e-book. You can get it through independent booksellers but because it came out three years ago you may have to have them order for you if you are outside of New England. Its obviously available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and Powells. By clicking on this link you will get a synopsis of the story of Tom and Atticus and what happened when we left behind a crazier, more hectic life to live in the mountains. Atticus has been with me since he was eight weeks old. Hes now twelve. Will has been with us since he was fifteen years old, after he was plucked from a kill shelter by New Jersey Schnauzer Rescue and placed with us. He will be eighteen in January. His story is a big part of the next book, which Im currently working on. I hope this helps with those of you who have discovered us through our photographs and writing to understand the page a little more. I thank you for joining us here and for those who have read our book, which reached the New York Times Bestseller list, I really appreciate it. Im a writer and this is how I make my living and provide the lives I do for Atticus, Will, and me. And hopefully my continued writing will lead us one day to eventually purchasing a farm in the mountains where neglected and abused animals, especially farm animals, will be able to live out their lives as Will is now currently doing with us. Onward, by all means, Tom
