Morning manna. John 13:3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had put everything into His hands, and that He had come from God and was now returning to God, Got up from supper, took off His garments, and taking a servants towel, He fastened it around His waist. Then He poured water into the washbasin and began to wash the disciples feet and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. When He came to Simon Peter, Peter said to Him, Lord, are my feet to be washed by You? (Is it for You to wash my feet?). Jesus said to him, You do not understand now what I am doing, but you will understand later on. Peter said to Him, You shall never wash my feet! Jesus answered him, Unless I wash you, you have no part with (in) Me (you have no share in companionship with Me). Simon Peter said to Him, Lord, wash not only my feet, but my hands and my head too. (I like that response). Jesus said to him, Anyone who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is clean all over. And you are clean, but not all of you. For He knew who was going to betray Him; that was the reason He said, Not all of you are clean. So when He had finished washing their feet and had put on His garments and had sat down again, He said to them. Do you understand what I have done to you? You call Me the Teacher and the Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is what I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one anothers feet. For I have given you this as an example, so that you should do (in your turn) what I have done to you. I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, A servant is not greater than his master, and no one who is sent is superior to the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed and happy and to be envied are you if you practice them. Here was the Lord of lords, the King of kings, the Savior of the whole world, the greatest Man to ever walk the earth, washing feet. Look at the balance here. There has to be balance in everything we do. We are too kings and priest on this world and have much authority but need to also be servants. I have many people who work for me yet every day I am asking them what I can do for them. My tend to be black and white on subjects and stick to the truth, but life is about balance. In the bible grace always comes before truth and truth without grace is mean. But then speaking all love without honesty is only deceiving yourself. Im going through situational leadership training at work. Evaluating a situation and applying the right style of leadership. Its good for me where I am at. I tend to look at things sternly, either right or wrong, black or white, left or right. But a leader has to wear different hats. I am in many governments, at work, home, being a father, husband, governments at church, administratively in the band. In some roles I need to be a bold visionary, in some roles I am under authority and need to be quiet and listen. If I look at this and try to figure it all out in my own strength it gets overwhelming. So I try to be led by the Spirit of God. Sometimes you need to save. Sometimes you need to give very generously. Sometimes you need family time. Sometimes you have to move everything aside and spend time in the Word and almost be intolerant against the things that would distract you and keep you from the Word, even if it is family. Those led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Today I need to run to log my miles to keep ontrack with my goals I set for myself. I asked Sarah if she wanted to run. She suggested we go walking in the park. I didnt know how much cardio I would get and have only logged 1 mile this week and need to run at least 4 today. I cant log miles at the trail at the park, so I was gonna go myself somewhere else. I asked the Lord what I should do. He said go on the trail with your wife. This will break all my plans and goals but I have to get to the place where my plans dont matter and Im led by the Spirit of God. Balance. Be blessed and I love you.
