Morrisons responsibility to protect child refugees to initially arrived in Australia is non delegable. It cannot be completely surrendered to Nauru. He may try to pull a Pontius Pilate but he cannot wash his hands of his and our responsibility. His decisions put those children at risk. The fact that it would appear that Nauru, with no functioning legal system, is incapable of protecting refugees and asylum seekers merely underscores a simple emergent reality.
