He makes everything complete in every way. - Ephesians 1:23 (ERV) Meditation Legendary sports broadcaster Jon Miller is considered to be one of the best in the business because of his upbeat presence and style. The play-by-play announcer for the Baltimore Orioles for many years, his sense of drama and voice of authority can make even an 8-1 blowout baseball game sound exciting and tense. In broadcasting games, Miller says he never forgets the most important thing a fan needs to know. He keeps an egg timer on his announcer desk to go off every three minutes to remind him to give the score of the game. The Lord’s Supper is like Miller and his egg timer. Amid all the vigor, drama, and disappointment of life, it reminds us on a regular basis—every week or every month—of the most important thing we need to know. His blood, His body, and their deeper meaning for us should remain as constant in our lives as the beating of our hearts. His sacrifice fills us and makes us complete in Him so that we, as a body of believers and church, can build each other up and make a life-altering impact in our community. Prayer Jesus, I thank You for Your body and Your blood. I’m grateful for what You’ve done for me. Let me remember Your dedication to me and my salvation more often. Amen.
