Most of Central Texas was frontier territory after the Civil War. - TopicsExpress

Most of Central Texas was frontier territory after the Civil War. When Confederates came home(Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, ect.) their was nothing left. Most everything was destroyed, or burned, and the Carpet Baggers moved in to get what was left. So those men came here. Most towns and counties are named after Confederate Heroes. Those that werent were named after the Indians in area. MOST TOWNS HAD SIGNS. I know Granbury did and so did Glen Rose. Every town had a hanging tree too, but it was used for anyone white or black that was deemed guilty by what little justice existed back then. Execution was a form of entertainment back in those days, and the law was as bad as the bad guys. To close Ill share what my Uncle taught me years ago. There is good White Folk, Good Black Folk, and Good Hispanic Folks, and there is Sorry White Folk, Sorry Black Folk, and Sorry Hispanic Folk. Skin color has nothing to do with it.
