Most of my close friends and family know that I have had some serious issues with my back and more specifically ruptured and herniated discs in my lower spine in the past (L-4-L5-S1). For about 8 months I was in agonizing pain and discomfort almost all of the time. Many times I would get stuck at the top of the stairs or on the floor somewhere and could not move for hours. I had to have surgery to remove the parts of the discs that were causing me pain (Discectomy). Recovery wasnt instantaneous and it took a lot of PT,and effort but thankfully for the past several years I have been able to return to living life as close to normal as possible and have had very little pain at all. This past Sunday, the pain came back. I didnt do anything out of the normal, nothing too strenuous at all. Literally it came out of nowhere. Sunday - Monday I had a very dark outlook on my situation, my pain, and what my next steps would be. My injury at 19 years old was literally life-changing, I lost all of my savings and ruined my credit, not to mention the physical and mental toll it had on me as well. I have spent the past 5 years, along with the help of my wife and a lot of other people, rebuilding my life, getting healthy again, and growing my family. Im not sure if I can take the pain, but having a wife and a daughter by my side helps me to know Im going to be OK, that Im not going to fail, or give up. I told Kelsie that I couldnt handle it again, that I didnt have it in me. The truth is, I cant handle it on my own, but with the love and support of my family I know we can. God has created many miracles in my life up til now and I fully trust that He is able to see me through this. Be encouraged today, You dont have to go at it alone - Let all that I am praise the lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. Ps. 103.2-4
