Most of my friends know that Im pretty easily entertained...when it comes to movies. but when it comes to theater, concerts, shows, stand up, singing, pretty much anything live it takes a lot to impress me. Last Friday, on our anniversary, my wife and i were psyched as we scored tickets to the amazing Bill Cosby playing at treasure Island. well..., it was amazing to see him in concert but the show was less than mediocre. we were very disappointed as we walked out of the theater. but still, it was Bill frickin Cosby. We then went down the strip to the Luxor to see a show called fantasy. Lets just say it was the best surprise and most polished show Ive seen a very long time. The girls were of course lovely, great dancers and a few great vocalists. there was a girl that did a cirque worthy (or better) silks routine and there was a stand up comic that was hilarious, a great singer and did probably the best MJ Ive ever seen. But the coup de gras, the biggest surprise, the monumental performance came from the hostess and MC of the show. Her name is Jaime Lynch Thompson and we met 3 years ago at season one of X Factor. She was one of the casualties of politics Im sure, but we never got the chance to hear her sing. i can say now that it was one of the biggest travesties of the show. After watching her perform in Fantasy I can say with the utmost confidence that if America could have seen her on X factor she would have won that show with no arguments and very little competition. (unless i was on there) :) in fact, she is as good or better than most that are out there now. my wife compared her to Christina Aguilera which is high praise indeed. So, take my advice and go see fantasy at Luxor. Great performances all around and you get to see boobs! :) Im not downplaying the show but thats one of the perks when you go to Vegas. Jamie, we were so blown away. I think we are coming back in july and we might have to sell the place out with our convention folk!!
