Most of us are just immensely relieved the bombing has stopped in Gaza--at least at such a murderous rate. But to declare that Israel lost to Palestinian resistance is to ignore mountains of cement rubble, tens of thousands of homeless, & most of all the continuing blockade which will make it impossible to remove the rubble & rebuild, & will continue to deny adequate food & medicine for treating over 10,000 seriously injured people On the other hand, Israel & the entire Exodus narrative took a massive beating from which it will not recover. Thousands of tweets of Palestinian children mangled & murdered by bombs & riddled with shrapnel have undone that Exodus crap so carefully constructed for 66 years. Andy Williams has crooned his schmaltz for the last time. And it might be added, it did not help Israels case one bit to see people sitting in lawn chairs cheering on genocide. Over a million people were in the streets around the world protesting over & over again & demanding Israel stop the massacre. There hasnt been a solidarity movement on this scale since the massive international protests against the Vietnam War. It isnt that Israel went too far this time because they have been murderous toward Palestinians for over 66 years. But this time they have been exposed. This is a historic turning point for Israel & for Palestinian justice. Our work has just begun; we are entering the educational & boycott phase. We need forums, teach-ins, speak-outs, more rallies, & we need to build the hell out of the economic & cultural boycott (BDS) of Israel.
