Most of you are familiar with the effects of light pollution on hatchling sea turtles. However, in addition to its harmful effects on sea turtles, migratory birds, nocturnal insects and a host of other wildlife, light pollution also has deadly consequences for humans. In an effort to help spread the word about light pollution and its harmful effects on the environment and human health, Dr. Mario Motta will be will be giving his talk Health Effect of Light Pollution as part of Florida Atlantic Universitys (FAU) Frontiers in Science Public Lecture Series. Dr. Motta is a Cardiologist in practice at the North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Massachusetts, an Associate Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, is on the Council of Science and Public Health of the American Medical Association, and is also a Board Member of the International Dark Sky Association. His talk will be held on the FAU campus in Boca Raton on Feb. 7th at 3:30 pm in Room 126 of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine Building BC71.
