“Most people are, on some level at least, actually afraid of money. Like most fears, this one stems from a lack of understanding about money. Although most people have their pockets bulging with the stuff, they know almost nothing about how financial systems work. Most people have only a tenuous idea about the workings of the economy, for example, even though they claim to vote governments in or out on the basis of their economic performance! Basic economics is rarely taught in schools, the history of the Founding Fathers is considered far more important. Funny how no-one ever questions the fact that we are taught nothing about government, or money, or self-fulfillment, or alternatives to the rat-race, or..... The Initiate knows a very great deal about money. They are not trained accountants, by the way. Anyone can learn all about money by reading, at most, three good books on the subject. Available from all good book shops. Most of all, people fear true poverty - particularly if they have a family to support. This is all part of the con, because if you can keep people in a more or less permanent state of panic about their bank-balance, then you can ensure that they do not step too far out of line.” - Inner Circle Philosophy (Stuart Goldsmith) Click “Share” if you want others to read this.
