Mpombo says Alleged Bumper Harvest is Act of God People’s Democratic Party President George Mpombo says the projected bumper harvest is an act of God and not a result of any tangible effort by the ruling Patriotic Front. Mpombo said anyone who followed the agriculture season may have noticed that it was not possible to have a bumper harvest based on policies because the distribution of inputs was done confusingly. He said that the bumper harvest should it come to fruition will be as a result of divine intervention. Mpombo said the PF government was treating agriculture a side activity in driving the economy. “Actually the projected bumper harvest is an act of God because the PF policies towards agriculture are mired in confusion and are lackadaisical,” he said. “The story of the confusion that happened with the distribution of inputs and that tells you how they rate agriculture.” Agriculture Minister Wilbur Simuusa recently announced that the country has a projected 3.2 million tonnes of maize. zambiareports/2014/05/13/mpombo-says-alleged-bumper-harvest-act-god/
