He knew from them beginning his mission from God the father was to die by shedding his blood once and for all as a substitute for animal sacrifices yet He overcame death.The wages of sin(disobedience to God) which is eternal separation from god meaning death. Since Jesus overcame death he has the power to forgive those who acknowledge their sin so we can have a direct line of communication with God through the holy spirit inspired bible and through the holy spirit itself. God is love. He wants to be part of our lives. We went from 10 to 2 commandments according to Jesus. Lov God and love your neighbor. Everything else comes from those 2.
