Mr. Hun Manet was conducted public meeting in Lowell on October 4th, 2014 His speech was great for his Father and Yuon Government, not for Khmer. These are all our CNRP Youth MA s analysis.... On Yuon illegal immigrants and territory integrity 1) Manet:“No leader in this world wants to be known in history as one who sells/cuts land to Vietnam or Yuon.” CNRP MA Youth Group: What do the Cambodian incumbent leaders want to be known when: A) The government sentenced Mr. SAM Rainsy to some jail terms when he uprooted the illegal border posts; B) The government had arrested several people and threatened those who were vocal on the lands lost to Vietnam; C) HUN Senwould provide free coffins to those who want to reclaim lost land to Vietnam; D) The government has allowed illegal Yuon immigrants to come and settle in Cambodia to steal local jobs from Cambodians causing hundred thousands of Cambodians to migrate to other countries seeking for jobs; E) The Youns have been allowed to have Cambodian ID Cards and voted every elections against the will of general Cambodians; F) The government has taken immigration law SO lightly making Cambodia a safe haven for illegal Youn immigrants; On Refugees detained in Nauru Island 2) Manet:“Cambodia decided to receive them out of our compassion on case by case manner, and international obligation” CNRP MA Youth Group: If the Cambodian government has compassion: A) Why did it deport Montagnard refugees back to Vietnam? B) What about Uyghur refugees? Why didit return Uyghur refugees back to China to be harmed when they were safe in Cambodia? • Was that what you referred to as “compassion”? • Was that what you called “international obligation”? On land grabbing issues 3) Manet:“True victims of land grab issues are helped. We need to identify who the true victims are and who need help.” CNRP MA Youth Group: Are you telling us that all these people who have been protesting for their lands back FAKE? • You know very well that many Cambodians were traumatized by the brutality and inhumanity they had been inflicted upon that they barely had the gut to confront the guns if they had not had enough of the injustice and abuses. • Those unfortunate people have nothing left to lose. They have to fight for their survival. They have lost their lands, their homes, their farms. • They have been ignored for too long. They are real victims. And there are real thieves who have stolen their lands. You better work harder to identify those thieves many of whom are either in or affiliated with the current government. On development issues 4) Manet:“We should NOT compare Cambodia to the USA.” CNRP MA Youth Group: Being a great leader one should have a great vision. • Comparing Cambodia with the USA in terms of development is not that too ambitious. Had Cambodia not been so corrupt and ill governed like this we wouldnot have been lagging too far behind the USA. • But one should NEVER compare Cambodia now to Cambodia during or immediately after the Khmer Rouge. One is bloviating when doing that. • A great leader is judged by his/her past ten year achievement as no democratic leader SHOULD BE in power more than two consecutive terms of five years, no matter how so-called smart he/she is. 5) Manet:“We should NOT Compare Lowell to Manhattan, New York City where there are countless of tall buildings.” CNRP MA Youth Group: Lowell has its great and unique beauty than that of Manhattan. Lowellians stand taller than the tall buildings in Manhattan, so still we can compare Lowell with Manhattan, New York City in other terms not just about the tall buildings. 6) Manet:“We should however ask this simple question: Is Cambodia better NOW than TEN years ago?” CNRP MA Youth Group: That question is never simple for the Cambodian government. Be it as it may: Is Cambodian better now than 10 years ago? The simple answer is: NO A) Students’ performance at school has been worse and worse (i.e. 89% passed high school exam during the past ten years. This year about 25% passed); B) Corruption has been more rampant; C) Living condition has been much harder. The price of gasoline, foods and consuming products has increased three times, with huge inflation and high cost of living, yet civil servants and workers’ salary remains not-livable; D) Huger area of forests is defrosted; E) A huge number of Cambodians are still living below the poverty line; F) The government still has a strong control of the media; G) Human rights abuses remain as high; H) Impunity is still a culture; I) Nepotism ( for example the appointment of people in the high-ranking positions because they are the sons, daughters or family members of the incumbent high-ranking officers not their job seniority) and favoritism are still very much in place; J) And the list goes on and on. 7) Manet:“We should however ask this simple question: Is Lowell BETTER NOW than FIVE years ago?” CNRP MA Youth Group: Definitely Yes. Lowell has seen better now than five years ago. • But why Cambodia is not BETTER NOW than Five years ago in terms of living conditions? • Why are there more Cambodians taking to the streets to protest their lands and injustice? • Why do more and more Cambodians have to migrate to neighboring countries for jobs? • Why Phnom Penh’s roads are flooded more often than five years ago? • Why are public parks sold? Mr. Hun Manet is the one of Kon Khmer which had high Education from America, but he didnt use his abilities to serve our country, he just follow his dictator father Mr. Hun Sen 100%. Please use your head.
