Mr. Wetterauer (the kids former Principal) would NEVER take credit for how great Charter Oak once was. Never. We would rave to him because we were the happiest parents this side of the Mississippi. (Like we had a private school within Peoria Public Schools.) He would say time & time again that it was the sum of all parts. Not just him, but the teachers, staff, parents & kids that made it so great. For the last 4 months, we have watched our Administration dismantle that great school. We write to the School Board, ISBE, even our City Council......and NOTHING. It started when they pulled him out & treated him like a criminal. People have been transferred to break up the well bonded family we had at Charter Oak. People are retiring, resigning & Im sure many more transfers are to come. Its SO sad. Its had me feeling sick for over 130 days. Its hard to have peace & see such harsh things happening to good people. We are being called racist. We have been accused of being threatening? Apparently, we even bully children & faculty. What a joke. I really believe in being the change you want to see. Speaking out for what Is right & what you believe in. And I know that things dont always come easy......but Im feeling completely defeated. Its been a WONDERFUL 5 years, well until the last 4 months. We have 6 weeks left......and we are done being a Charter Oak Family. Im truly heartbroken.
