Mulholland was foaled in 2009 at Eliza Park, by the stunning stallion Shinzig, out of Dreaming On. In 2011, Mulholland sold for $35,000 at the Inglis sales. After 10 starts for a second, a third and just over $4,300 in prize money, Mulholland was retired from racing in December 2013. Mulholland was then given away to be show horse. What happened over the next 4 months is unknown, but on April 16th 2014, Mulholland appeared in the yards at Echuca Horse Sales. By some twist of fate, Chloe was buying horses over the phone at the sales for the first time, and after purchasing the two horses she had planned on buying, Chloes close friend called shouting Can you fit in one more!? and within seconds, Chloe had purchased her soulmate.
