Murieston Environmental Group (MEG) is organising a volunteer day from 10am on Sunday, 13 April. The main task of the day is to plant 1,700 pond plants in the newly constructed marginal beds. These plants will be great habitat for wildlife and help oxygenate the pond. The group will also need help with litter picks, putting up a gazebo and meadow creation (sowing seeds). For all volunteers that help, there will be hamburgers, home baking and hot/cold drinks. If you can’t help with the manual tasks but can with cooking / handing out teas coffees for other volunteers then please get in touch. MEG would also be grateful if you could let them know if you are coming so that they know roughly how many to cater for. Please email [email protected] or comment on the groups Facebook page. Volunteers should bring suitable clothes for the day, wellies, a spade/trowel, garden rake and some enthusiasm.
