Muscle building is basically the opposite of cancer. Gram for - TopicsExpress

Muscle building is basically the opposite of cancer. Gram for gram if you consume a lot of macronutrients you are going to create a highly anabolic environment and unless you lift weights the excess fuel will anabolize into fat and/or cancer (obesity and cancer are closely related). How this occurs is really interesting: 1. Muscle building decreases insulin and uses up IGF-1, cancer needs insulin and IGF-1 to stimulate its own growth. 2. Muscle building decreases fasting blood-sugar, cancer loves sugar. 3. Muscle building uses the excess Branched Chain Amino Acids found in the Standard American Diet, cancer wishes to use the highly anabolic BCAAs for its own unregulated growth. 4. Muscle building upregulates the muscle cells genes responsible for mammalian Target of Rapamycin (the most anabolic pathway found in mammals), stasis/sedentarianism upregulates mTOR for cancerous cells. 5. Muscle building upregulates the enzymes that manufacture antioxidants, cancer is caused by free-radical damage to the cell nucleus (basically the lack of antioxidants). 6. Having more muscle increases ones basal metabolic rate so more nutrients are needed to fuel even dormant muscles and therefore less nutrients are available to fuel cancer. Basically, muscle building is giving your body the impetus to use the proteins and carbs you consume to rebuild itself. By not exercising the body doesnt have a purpose for the excess carbs and protein (and fat) and instead they will defer to whatever it is that is demanding the nutrients - a mutated rogue self-replicating cancer cell. Its natures way of telling you to use it or lose it. Thus always give your body a reason to use all the nutrients you are consuming otherwise you are creating the precise environment for cancer to grow. The good news is two 30 minutes weight lifting sessions can completely renovate ones metabolic profile. It also good for ones facebook profile ;) telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/5371468/Men-with-big-muscles-cut-cancer-risk-by-40-per-cent.html
