Muscle might weigh more than fat, but it is more dense and burns calories like crazy! Muscles are essential for healthy bones and bodies, and that is what today’s fitness session are all about. From 12:15-12:45 at the La Crosse County Health Dept. basement, Barb Helgeson will be talking about bone health. Later today from 5-5:30, Chair Strength will be taking place at the La Crosse Goodwill in the Mississippi Room. Weight bearing exercises include hiking, jogging, jumping rope, using resistance bands, lifting weights, and lifting your own body weight through exercises such as push-ups. Aim for two to three days per week for muscle building exercise.
