Muslims are celebrating the new Islamic year. What some dont understand, if it was not for Imam Hussain, we would have a religion prescribed by Yazid. This is the month when the household of the Holy Prophet was destroyed. It was because of their sacrifice, we are Muslims. It is because of their sacrifice, Islam lives. Just consider, if your family members were butchered one by one, from old to young, the women of your house were stripped of their veils, their earring ripped off their ear lobs, chained and dragged through the streets. Would we really be celebrating?
