Must share.... Today my super sweet husband came home from work at lunch and requested that I accompany him to lunch. We arrived at Crave Cafe (Yummy little place here in China Spring) ordered our food (I was good and ordered salad) and once we finished we asked our waitress for our ticket. "Your ticket has already been paid." What? Who? She pointed to the middle of the restaurant and said "that gentlemen right there paid for your lunch". Chase Hampton proceeded to approach the man and as he did, the man turned, reached out his hand and said "Thank you for your service and sacrifices". This small act made both of us quite humbled and emotional. In the 15 years Chase has been in the military we have lived in 8 different places and NEVER have we been shown the respect and appreciation for his (our) service in all of those places combined as we have received here in Waco in just 3 months. We have yet to go out in public without at least one person coming up and shaking his hand. We (YES, WE) do not serve for respect, or hand shakes or free meals but it sure is an awesome feeling when they come our way. Next time you see a service member, Please, shake their hand, it really does mean so much.
