My Favorite New Years Eve was New Years 2000. Everybody was freaking out about Y2K and it was going to be the collapse of civilization etc. I knew people that were stocked up on water and supplies that bunkered down. I was in New York at the time and I was not about to stay in and watch the world come to an end, if the shit was going down I was gonna be having some fun damn it. So I went to Splashbar NYC by myself and wound up having the most amazing night but what was so awesome was that right around Midnight they played This song and they coordinated the New Years Count down with the one in the video and when the clock struck 12 in the video it was 12 in real life and the special effects in the video flashed through the club and the ceiling exploded with confetti and people hugged, kissed and danced with joy and abandon and I was in the middle of it arms in the air, smile on my face, feeling free and lovely, bringing in the year 2000 with about 1000 of my closest friends. The energy that night was blissful and electric. I think that will always be my favorite New Years Eve. Whats Yours?
