My First year of Film Photography. I have always been interested in Cinema. So in June of last year, I decided to buy a DSLR for video. This DSLR is what got me interested in photography. However, I quickly got bored with its stale, artificial look. I started shooting film that November by shooting and developing my own 35mm black and white. This was fun for a while, but I still wanted to do more. A month Later I bought an RB67 and shot and self developed two rolls of slide film. I was very happy with the results. A few days later, on Christmas day, my family gave me an Omega 4x5 Monorail camera. I was able to take this picture with my friend and his guitar on January 1st. So, in three months I went from Digital to 35mm, 6x7, and 4x5. Film Photography is such fun! Since then, Ive become even more confident in my abilities. I shot my summer vacation on slides and was also a shooter (shooting 100% Film) at my sisters wedding. I am now focusing more of my efforts on Filmmaking again. I just bought a Bolex 16mm camera. Im planning on cutting and projecting the film traditionally. There isnt a huge online community of 16mm filmmakers, so it is much more difficult to get information on the subject. I just hope I can get a handle on it!
