My Friends, my Comrades, my Enemies, I feel a strong urge to share this with you. Feel free to disagree with me. I do not support the BJP. But I felt joy at Sri Babul-Shupriyos election victory. The way he was harassed and bullied by the West Bengal government repeatedly! Smt Mamata Banerjees government tried to belittle him, to break his will. But the young man fought back valiantly without losing his head, without losing his resolution. I think many people who would otherwise not vote for BJP voted for HIM to express their human solidarity with him. Sri Babul-Shupriyo taught us all a lesson by his determination. I have always seen huge cut outs of the great leader Smt Mamata Banerjee where these words by Rabindranath were written in bold letters: Chitto jetha bhoyshunyo uccho jetha sheer : Where the heart is fearless and the head is held high!!! Smt Mamata Banerjees manoeuvres to malign and weaken Sri Babul-Shupriyo in Asansol only successfully ridiculed those much quoted Rabindranath words. Contrary to her and her peoples expectation it was this young man, whose presence has never been felt in any political activism before (please correct me if you think I am wrong), proved that HE WAS THE ONE WHOSE HEART WAS FEARLESS AND WHO KNOWS HOW TO HOLD HIS HEAD HIGH. I wish him a good career in politics. Politically Ill oppose him. But it would be better to have an opponent like him than to have friends who can leave the peoples movement just for a handful of silver. Fellow soldier, Sri Babul Shupriyo, take another old soldiers salute. Lets trade songs, my friend. You sing FOR your party and Ill sing against it.
