My Mum ( Judith ) was the first respondent to the scene of an abandoned new born baby a few months back. Found with mucus in her mouth, ants feeding off the mucus, umbilical cord round her neck and the end not cut off but chewed off. Since then she has (with others) set up the Helderberg Baby Safe as a legacy for little Amber (after ambulance) and any other mum, parent or family in a crisis with no apparent choices left for them. Since my folks moved to South Africa they have immersed themselves in the local community. They have completely transformed Somerset West Neighbourhood Watch, are changing the way Somerset West is policed despite opposition from top officers who forget who is supposed to be serving who. They spent years dedicating themselves to serving the community as Police Officers in the UK, various committees and councils and still having time to be 100% committed full time parents. People go so wrong in life when they look to celebrities and sports stars as role models. Role models should come from your home. I have a lot to learn in this life and I will make mistakes, but one thing I know is that my parents will always be my role models on how to live my life for the better. Its that better that makes the world we live in a better place.
