My,My My God allow me to share to your people: WAITING UPON THE LORD Too often we feel stagnant and ineffective while waiting for the fulfillment of the promises of God. We need not get discouraged or yield to passivity. There are many appropriate ways to wait on the Lord. • We should wait prayerfully on Him ( see Ps 25 : 1-3 ) • In our prayerful attitude, we must wait expectantly, knowing that He hears our cries of intercession and in due time He will answe ( See Ps 31: 24 ) • And $most of all, we should patiently wait for the Lords answe ( see Ps 37 :7 - 9) But why does the Father make us wait sometimes for Long periods of time for the. Answe?- There are two reasons I believe He allows this to happen. Firstly, the Lord asks us to wait in order for Him to develop our character. Like Abraham, we receive rich promises from the Lord, but the promise generally precedes the supply. So we must wait. Remember, however, that periods of darkness often follow Gods promises. God develops our character in direct proportion to our willingness to wait for His timing. We should never try to help God fulfill his Word. When the Lord gives us a promise, He knows that our disposition must match His revelation. To accomplish this, He resorts to silence to remove our self- sufficiency. Gods silent treatment is an act of His discipline, not His displeasure. The Higher the calling of service, the greater the level of intergrity that is required. So the Lord uses testing to form the Character of Christ in our lives. Secondly, We must learn to wait for the Holly Spirit to empower us. As the 120 disciples waited in the Upper Room following Christs ressurrection, we, too, must learn to wait for the Spirits empowerment. As He used them powerful in the days that followed. He will use us in the days to come. Empowering comes as we meditate on Gods Word ( see Ps 77:11-13; 119: 12-14) To meditate is to contemplate, to ponder or to become absorbed in thought. Meditation draws the sweetness and spiritual nutrition of evry morsel of Gods Word into our hearts and lives. By it, we digest the Scriupture so spiritual growth can occur. Waiting on God cultivates intimacy ( see Ps 42:1,2,7,8) We would do well to patiently wait so we can learn to hear Him better. People of God, If we do not grow weary in doing well, We will receive the Promises. Amen
