My Perspective as an Evangelical Christian on Israeli-Palestinian - TopicsExpress

My Perspective as an Evangelical Christian on Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Jesus said to his disciples Blessed are Peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Mat 5:9 He is calling us as His Disciples and as His Children to be Peacemakers. This applies even to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict too. There is no biblical mandate to support Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian Civilians. There are extremists on both sides. No side is righteous or justified in their actions which causes unnecessary loss of human life, suffering, oppression and injustice. Yes, Israel may have a right to exist and defend itself but no right to massacre innocent civilians nor evict people from their homes, fields and properties. Israel defends itself using Iron dome and has the technology to avoid massive civilian causalities in taking out the missiles but I dont see evidence of restrain and caution nor regard for civilian life in mounting loss of life and suffering on the Palestinian side. Yes, Hamas are terrorists using their civilians as human shields but that is no justification for lopsided retaliation by Israeli Military causing massive civilian causalities and human suffering. I cant find any biblical mandate to support such atrocities even if they may be the chosen people. Palestinian lives are as precious to God as the Israeli life. As much the Israelis have a claim to the land, the Palestinians who lived there for centuries too have a claim to the land. Yes, Arab extremists have been making anti-Semitic and racist remarks some calling for Annihilation of Israel but there are equally extreme Israelis too like Ayelet Shaked who calls for the annihilation of Palestinians & Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan who justifies racism against Israeli-Arabs & Palestinian Arabs stating thats Jews have higher souls than non-Jews. This conflict and cycle of violence is facilitated by the extremists on both sides. The actions of one-side hardness and breeds more extremists on other side which further escalates and intensifies the cycle of violence. We as peacemakers should shun our support for extremism on either side show fairness and consideration to both sides. The Common Jew, Christian, Muslim, Druze, Bahai want live in peace and coexist. We need to pray for Peace in Palestine and not to take sides of any side indulging terror, atrocities, human right violations, oppressions, injustice etc rather encourage and facilitate by all possible means (political, economic etc) for all the concerned and affected parties to come together and settle the conflict peacefully through negotiations with peace, human rights, self-determination, mutual recognition for all in the region.
