My Thoughts: One way or another, the season was going to end - TopicsExpress

My Thoughts: One way or another, the season was going to end Saturday night, so some of what we feel is the inevitable sadness at 2014 being over. Even with the loss, Chattanooga Football Club is still the most successful program in NPSL history. From a practical standpoint, not winning the Championship means well do less bragging online, and well have to wait another season to upgrade our logo - I can live with those (plus, Im sure well still find plenty of reasons to brag online anyway). While Its frustrating to watch teams win that dont take the NPSL as seriously as we do, Chattanooga has the staying power that a lot of these programs dont. This was the first year New York ever got out of their region, and they might easily fall right back into obscurity next year. Look at RVA, they finished 3rd in their conference after last years undefeated year. Jacksonville Uniteds best effort since their 2011 championship was a narrow 1st-place conference finish last year. Good teams come and go, but Chattanoogas never finished less than 3rd in the region. No club older than a few years can say that. So while losing hurts, weve gotta keep focused on the big picture. Win or lose, we were still going to be right here, looking forward to 2015, and planning how to make it even better. THATs the next victory were after.
