My aunt went to Hospice House yesterday and is in her final hours/minutes. I want to give a special thanks to Marcie, who offered and went to sit with her for some time while she was in the hospital. Marcie and I have very little history, we met through The Muse and I rarely see or talk to her. But she reached out and offered something that was so kind, thoughtful and generous. She sent me kind and loving words after her visit, and made me feel a little better. I would never have thought to do that for someone (since I have virtually no experience with death), but I know I will do the same or similar for someone in the future. The greatest and most precious gift, and sometimes the hardest one to give, is our time.
