My beautiful singing teacher suffered greatly from Motor Neuron Disease for over a year before it took her life. Her singing voice was beautiful well into her 70s before the disease took her ability to talk, it was devastating, she continued to teach using gestures and writing on paper. The last thing she would want me to do would be to dump ice water on my head. She always re-enforced the importance of protecting your health by rugging up in winter and protecting the throat from harsh-cold air. If she were alive she would advise everyone to be sensible and to look after your instrument.
