My blood work has come back and I have officially tested positive for Lyme Disease. Because my tick bite was over two years ago, the disease has had the opportunity to wreak havoc in my body for far too long. This explains so much about the health problems I have had... Frequent sore throats, the bout of pneumonia, the horrible eye infection, the chronic pain flare ups, the constantly swollen glands, and the major fatigue. There have been times I thought I was losing my mind, wondered if I was a big, lazy faker, and when i felt like a horrible person and mother. All because I felt that something was wrong with my body when the doctors kept saying there was nothing medically wrong and that I need a psychiatrist. I cannot tell you what a relief this is for me! Not that I want to have this disease, but the validation that something IS wrong is huge! I go back to the doctor on Monday to discuss a treatment plan which will include a long term course of IV antibiotics. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers! I am so grateful for all of the love I have in my life!
