My country Nigeria is probably the most tribally separated country in the world. Its hurts me to see people hold back from being kind to a fellow Nigerian just cos theyre from another tribe. My experiences in the past few days is just enough to make me give up on a particular tribe but that will make me ignorant. I believe this is the main problem of the Nigerian state; A tribe feeling physically, intellectually or socially better than the other. The Igbos feeling physically or socially better, The Yorubas trying to dominate with their holier than thou attitude, and the Hausas acting like not being hausa is an abomination. Even here in diaspora, the separation is so strong that you just wonder why. You see people with a tribally influenced sense of entitlement even in America where most of us are privileged to be. I even heard some person attribute superiority in acting american or having an American accent to a particular tribe; what Rubbish!!!. Anyways, I should stop right here but the major takeaway is this; If you ever see someone as inferior, less intelligent, less attractive or underserving because of their tribe, YOU ARE FREAKING IGNORANT!!!!! and yes, you are the problem of Nigeria................Adedayo Ojo
