My current public and private school teachers and their - TopicsExpress

My current public and private school teachers and their supporters, it is so disheartening to hear about just how dangerous the profession has become in the last few years. Just this morning I received word that one of my UP (University of Phoenix) classmates was stabbed in the jugular by a 5th Grader b/c she would not allow the student to use colored pencils to complete a graphing assignment. Thankfully the incident was caught on camera & most importantly, my friend will be ok. Friends, please protect yourself at all costs. I was once reprimanded by administration for carrying my cell in the classroom and keeping it on display. My response? Remember Columbine. We have to be prepared for whatever may happen when those babies come to us from homes that are war zones--mentally and physically. For those who dont have AFLAC or other disability coverage, GET IT! If you dont have long term care insurance, cancer policy, or job protection coverage offered through your job, PURCHASE YOUR OWN POLICY. You cannot expect your local education association or union to exhaust their resources protecting you when you can take care of yourself. My hat is off to Robin Gardner and all those like her who fight for is on a daily basis; however, we teachers need to learn to also take better care of ourselves. Stay prayed up but WATCH as well as pray! Take care of yourselves and each other. GOD BLESS US ALL!
