My dad and I have a lot in common. But I think our biggest shared passion is one of music. My dad taught himself how to play the piano, the guitar, and trumpet as a kid. The day I was adopted and brought home, my dad had written a special song just for me. I grew up listening to my dad play music every day. Sometimes hed even play his guitar to me at bed time while I drifted off to sleep. He always encouraged me to play instruments (much to his dismay I never took up the trumpet). We also share a passion for singing and luckily for our family, were not tone deaf. Often my dad calls me into the kitchen, guitar in hand, and tells me which part to sing and we practice duets just for our own enjoyment. Today, we still bond over his guitar and our voices. I love every second of it. And this July, my Dad and I will be going to the Paul McCartney concert. We know every song by heart. It was my surprise birthday/fathers day present to him. But the real gift will be the memories we make. Cant wait to sing every song with you, Papa. Its going to be amazing. Love you!!
