My daughter Laurena, a third-year mass communication grad student - TopicsExpress

My daughter Laurena, a third-year mass communication grad student at U of Iowa, just let me know that her paper was accepted at OSCLG (Organization for the Study of Communication, Language and Gender) for the October 2013 conference. The two proposals to which I was committed were accepted as well. It will be a blast to share intellectual space with her (and a hotel room). For now, our scheduled panels do not conflict. . . I hope that remains the case. I am particularly pleased about this development, because OSCLG made a substantial financial contribution to the Girls International Forum participation in the 1995 United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, where, at the age of 10, Laurena was part of a delegation representing the global interests of "The Girl Child." I am so pleased to bring OSCLG and Laurena Bernabo together again.
