My day literally stopped in its tracks when the text popped up on my phone with the word that the first inductee into the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame will be the Macho Man Randy Savage, with the announcment coming on tonights Monday Night Raw. Was obviously a fan of a lot of wrestlers growing up and several of them clearly had an influence on me, from Michael P.S. Hayes to Mick Foley... but Savage... that was the guy I wanted to BE when I was a kid, man... from imitating his promos to dropping elbow drops off the top of my couch onto throw pillows set up on my living room floor. Hell, even in modern days I ended up borrowing his haircut and sunglasses without even realizing it...heh. I took word of his death pretty hard when it came up a few years ago. Today... Im thrilled.
