My day started out so great went to West Leb feed store to get things for Sammie, who will be here in a little over 48 hours. Got her all kinds of goodies an elevated dog feeding station. Her very own squeaking toy to cuddle with. A kong to hid treats in when Im not home (so her and Jo will have their own) bone to chew on, (special no antibiotic fast frozen bone to boil for both her and Jo once Im sure they know the word share)purple walking harness( will get her a matching collar once I know the size, an extend a leash. A comfort/support sling so she wont put wt down on the leg that had surgery and to relieve the wt on the good leg. A really neat tug toy for her and Jo to play (once she is allowed)I was in a great mood. I would like to thank the clerk at West Leb feed store for making sure I got my one time new dog discount and for her help. Love that store! Had to laugh the women that waited on me said if I come back as a dog I want u to own me. I laughed and told her she had no idea how many times Ive heard that Went to walmart to get a few things. I truly miss the friendly gentlemen that greeted u as u were living the store, then to price chopper thats when my day went shitty. I get out of my car, lock it turn around to see the cutest young black pit bull with his head out the window. (I could say something nasty here about if I had been a cop I would have shot it fearing for my life like we all know some cops seem to do) I talked to it and patted it hoping the person had just run in for a min. The windows were half down but it was still 80 degrees out. I went in the store for about 30 mins came back out and guess what the car is still there, only the dog wasnt so interested in getting up, I could see where it was tied to something in the car so it wouldnt jump out. I will admit the urge to take the dog was really hard not to do. I gave the dog some water I had just bought. The inside of the car was a pig sty the floor littered with every fast food container from the upper valley, the back looked like they had just come from Christmas tree shop. I locked back up my car went back into Price chopper with license number explained to them what was happening, they paged the owner of the car to come to the service desk immed. I go out and sit in my car 15 mins go by no one so I call the police another 10-15 mins go by no one now we r over a hour that I know this dog has been in the car. Along comes this women in her late twenties early thirties, she stops to light a cigarette look at a flyer or something and is just strolling along. She gets to the car removes a couple bags of groceries then leans against the car to puff on her butt. I got out of my car and approached her and said Excuse me miss, do you realize that it is 80 degrees out and you left your dog sitting in the car, in the middle of an asphalt driveway no water for over a hour that I know about. First she said oh it wasnt that long and I informed her how I knew it was that long and longer. I got the I cant help it I have no where to leave her she has to go with me. I said and u couldnt park in the shade? I want to park near the store! Every fiber in me wanted to slap her. I nicely said do u know how dangerous that is for the dog and the way you left her anyone could have reached in and took her god only knows what would happen to her. I got u dont understand Im homeless. I informed that was no excuse if she was homeless then if she loved that dog she would see it got proper care something she couldnt give it and I turned and walked away I saw the finger come up so I added oh by the way I called the police they have your license number got in my car pissed. So lady who drives a blue older model Volvo with NH tags that was at Price chopper, if u r truly homeless Im sorry but give your dog a chance give her up or find a home for it. But let me also tell you Im not stupid if you are homeless you are the first homeless person I have seen that has every fast food food wrappers in the upper valley through out your car and you were buying frozen foods, booze and cigarettes with no problem, ur hair was nicely styled etc. and dont think I didnt notice you pull I to Macdonalds drive up after. All I can say lady Karma will come your way I just hope that your dog isnt harmed before that. I still have your license number if I ever see that dog left in the car again I will take it and then call the police. Thank you everyone for letting me sputter she pissed me off so much I forgot to get laundry detergent and fabric softener and sputter all the way home. Jo got an extra hug and it made me more determine to give Sammie the best home and to nail ppl like you in the future
