My dear Hill Country Pediatrics family, It is with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation from this wonderful practice. I have thoroughly enjoyed the four years that I have spent with you, working with three of the very best pediatricians in Austin and getting to know so many amazing young families. I received such a warm welcome and felt at home from my very first day on the job. You amazed me with your confidence in a newly graduated physician. You care about me and are often checking on me and my family when I should be focusing on you. Your children are what make my dream job a reality. Their hugs, drawings and sweet thank you’s will never be forgotten. This decision was certainly not made lightly. When I joined Hill Country Pediatrics in 2010, I thought the office was just a skip down 620 from home. Unfortunately it has become a 45 minute (and sometimes longer!) commute. My husband and children spend their days in Bee Cave and at Regents school in Southwest Austin. I am hoping that working just a few miles from them will mean attending more preschool performances, lunch dates and getting to soccer practice and football games a few minutes earlier. For my personal patients, I apologize for any inconvenience this causes your family. I understand that building a relationship with your childs pediatrician takes time, and ultimately creates trust for both you and your child. I understand the importance of continuity in medicine, especially for children with special needs or chronic conditions. I know in these days of hectic schedules, a long drive to your pediatrician is an additional stress. You will be in wonderful hands with the fabulous pediatricians at Hill Country Pediatrics. We will ensure that documentation is clear so that a transition to any of our other doctors will be smooth. Wishing you all the best, Carly Thompson Dr Thompson will be available for patient care through August. While we can never replace her, we are hoping to find another physician or physicians assistant to help out around here. Dr Thompson , you will be missed!
