My dear Voltarians in Alavanyo and Nkonya, I greet you this - TopicsExpress

My dear Voltarians in Alavanyo and Nkonya, I greet you this morning. I am aware your long standing conflict predate the year I was born, 16th February 1976. However, I recollect that at age 5, when I was with my mother on the rice fields in Alavanyo, you two were fighting over just about anything, grass cutters, wild cats, birds, even fish as they transited naturally over lands, water and trees occupying the space over which you two were brazenly maiming and killing one another. Now, I am a fully grown man, at age 38, and 33 years on you are still fighting over ancient and banal matters-YET YOU TWO ARE STILL POOR. In fact, you have grown poorer. I have not been richer, but I have grown through sleeping in thatch and mud houses in the rice fields of Alavanyo (nearly eaten up by a python once) through the best institutions of learning in Ghana, seen the classrooms of the worlds best, visited 47 countries, wined and dined with some of the worlds most influential people and organisations and together with a dedicated team of 15 persons built one of the worlds most respectful organisations, IMANI. Yet, I know you have chiefs and very influential persons in Alavanyo and Nkonya too. Cant you two towns just make peace and attract the likes of us to support in anyway we can? Today, I urge you to rise above the silly squabbles that only bring penury and disease to your people. Please you two towns deserve to be more than dots on maps- You must be significant! Please make peace now. I believe you can, I have faith, I have IMANI. (IMANI means faith in Swahili) . Good morning.
