My dear friend and sister Tammy wrote this. Many need to say ouch to this one. *Clouds Without Rain Captured by culture; the church of this age Gone is the pulpit, replaced by the stage Lights, camera, action! All systems are “go” Sit back, grab your Starbuck’s, its time for the show Worship begins in the usual way The band rocks the house; the goats sing and sway After the drama, interpretive dance Priming the way for the day’s main event Meanwhile the tech team prepares to go live Linking and syncing with three sister sites A hip “cyber preacher” appears on the screens Keeping it real in flip-flops and jeans. A warm, friendly welcome, a quick opening prayer He opens his iPad for notes he’s prepared So polished his prose, so smooth and refined He tickles their ears, while leaving them blind “Worship” concludes in the usual way “Just As I Am” relentlessly played A call to the altar, the “sinner’s prayer” prayed Handed a Bible, then sent on their way Pulpits bereft of the “doctrines of grace” Arminian dreck being preached in its place Waves of the sea foaming up their own shame Wolves clad in wool; clouds without rain. *(cf. Book of Jude)
