My dear mum used to say, as did many other wise mums, never explain, never apologize. Actually, she never did say such a thing. I just imagined it, like its an axiom stuck in collective consciousness. Its actually fine to do just that. At least Im assuring myself of that, having been doing rather a lot of it lately. and being particularly chatty with the rest of my time. Make of that what u will dear readers (u still awake?)
