My dogs have played a major role in supporting me through the early stages of diagnosis and treatments. Their fervent sniffing at the original lump was one of the reasons I didnt fluff it off and sought a diagnosis. Although they can be boisterous, they were much more calm and sedate while I was undergoing daily radiation. Unfortunately, the 2 Newfs had to go to a friend and a relative this past week while I had surgery, Im looking forward to them coming home. My German Shepherd follows me everywhere and is very solemn and vigilant on our abbreviated walks, like she knows Im not 100% there, yet.
