My fairy dogmothers own dog Scout wrote a book, and he says I inspired him. Here is his prayer for our petbrethren who are in chains or on the Green Mile. These are doggables and geenzers who are in a world of hurt. They don’t have a lady (or a fellow or both, even) to love them. They don’t get to go for walks and get cheeseburgers and get snacks at bedtime. I say this prayer. Dear Lord of the Dog Universe, please save my fellow furry brethren from painful ends. Please move their would-be families to seek them out in the shelters, the pounds, the rescues and on Facebook, wherever their stricken countenances might be, and fall in love with them and make room on the couch for them. Let them romp and play and live good, happy lives of fulfillment for themselves and their persons. Please, in the name of all that is holy, please let their suffering end and let them be as happy as I am. Amen
