Egypt Travel Notice Although Egypt is a popular diving destination with many excellent dive sites, the present civil unrest gives us cause for concern. As is the case for all travel insurance policies, the DAN Group Policy stipulates no coverage in the case of a loss, injury, damage or legal liability where sustained or caused, either directly or indirectly, from: 1. War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities, civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection or military or usurped power, labour disturbances, riot, strike or lock-out; or 2. the intentional use of military force to intercept, prevent, or mitigate any known or suspected Terrorist Act; or 3. any Terrorist Act or bomb incident or threat thereof. Given the high probability of such an event in Egypt at present, and because we want to assure the full benefits of our DAN Group Policy to our members as far as possible, we have consulted our insurers (Guardrisk), about these exclusions: Guardrisk have confirmed that they will not cover DAN members who require assistance due to problems arising from war or civil unrest; hence DAN may be prevented from extending its Group Policy benefits to DAN members travelling, in this specific case, to Egypt. In addition, there may be unpredictable difficulties in arranging recompression, medical and aeromedical support for DAN members due to the current state of emergency, even where injuries are diving-related. We therefore feel obligated to advise our DAN members to strongly reconsider any travel plans to Egypt during this period of civil turmoil. Safe Diving, The DAN Team
