My father is receiving good care from the staff at the memory care facility where he resides in Youngsville, NC, about 1.75 hours from where I live. Hospice had been called in now as his physical body shuts down in preparation to exit this earthly incarnation. My three sisters (two of whom live much closer and for whom I am extremely grateful for their consistent daily care to our parents over the past couple of years) and myself are now coordinating our schedules so Daddy will have someone with him 24/7. Our mothers dementia is rated as moderate now as well. I had the privilege of caring for my dad last night. The poem in this story breaks my heart but serves as an excellent reminder that life is fleeting. Never miss an opportunity to tell/show loved ones how much you care. Peace.
