My father never ceases to amaze me. Lets start with he is diabetic, has had a hip replacment and is on blood thinners. I have been home for a few weeks now and see some of what he does. This morning my mother could not find him again. This happens often so I simply said I would go look for him. I figured he was back over the hill since his anticipation of hunting season is over whelming this year. I found him in his fully stocked tree house watching deer. I am talking tools, Window cleaner, WD-40, a nut cracker, holders for his silverware and eyeglasses, you name it, it is in that tree stand suspended 10 ft of the ground. Shortly before 4:00 this afternoon there is a knock at my door. For those that do not know the Snapper is the 2wd, 2 seater yard machine of his. He, for unknown reasons, had it back over the hill in the woods and got it stuck. So he walked the whole way back to get me to pull him out. We did see a buck on the way out. Maybe I should say he picked it out in thick brush so matter a factly. We get to where we actually go into the woods and he gets off the tractor and tromps his way through the woods ahead of me. He has mowed down all the weeds and now he wants to trim some trees that are in his shooting Lane!! Did I say he was 79 years old on Thursday? Oh and can someone help him put a new roof on the hunting stand since he will be using it till he is 90. Truly amazing!
