My friends, we live & work within the reality we are given, not the reality we wish for. None of us are happy about the situation in Syria, nor are we happy about the betrayal of the United States. We are not happy that Obama is mobilizing the support to fight ISIS that he should have mobilized to fight Assad. If he had done that, we would have no ISIS today to fight. Obama has given Assad a free pass to kill hundreds of thousands of Syrians. The inhumanity of this policy is despicable. However, we will never be able to change the past, nor will we be able to overcome Obamas reluctance to stop Assads brutality that he prefers to label as someone elses civil war. What we can do is shame Obama for allowing ISIS to grow so that Obama has to take action. What we can do is shame Obama for considering partnering with Assad to fight ISIS until that option is off the table. What we can do is prove that the Syrian opposition is a true partner for building peace and stability in the region, and then continue to shame Obama for refusing to support the farmers and dentists against the dictator. The decision today is a reflection that some progress has been made. Much remains. We need to make sure our Syrian opposition remains true to its ideals. We are not compromising with anyone by fighting ISIS. That is a noble fight in line with the principles of our Revolution-- a Revolution that will not stop until Assad is gone. Changing the world isnt easy. We work within the confines of reality without ever abandoning our principles. God bless the Syrian Revolution and God bless the Syrian people and may they soon celebrate with freedom and dignity.
