My good friend Steve Houser of Arborilogical Services does more to save trees than any 500 of the rest of us. Steve has written to me to say that Earth Day Texas is taking its tree initiative to new heights in 2014 as they sponsor the ChariTree event on April 26 and 27 at Fair Park in Dallas. All proceeds from this unique fundraising event will go toward the Dallas Urban Forest Advisory and The Texas Historic Tree Coalition to help plant, preserve, and protect our trees. Please consider donating through one of four non-profit, volunteer based groups involved, or simply share this link via Facebook, Twitter, (Linkedin), or email to help spread the word. Visit the Crowdrise - ChariTree Fundraiser link below for more information on how you can be involved! crowdrise/ChariTreeUFACChallenge/fundraiser/earthdaytx And, as proof of their efforts: In the chance that you didn’t see a story in the Dallas Morning News yesterday about the work of the Texas Historic Tree Coalition, here is a link: dallasnews/news/community-news/best-southwest/headlines/20140407-recognition-of-mighty-bur-oak-is-tied-to-big-spring-protection-effort.ece
